5. Industry background
In 2021, China Chemical Information Center will organically integrate the expert resources and channel network in the system to build a BDM biodegradable material service platform, which is divided into eight sections, including: professional exhibitions, special conferences, industry consulting, group standards, live broadcasts, awards, trade matching and media promotion.
On June 20, 2023, the Administrative Measures for the Use and Reporting of Disposable Plastic Products by Business Operators in the Commercial Sector issued by the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) came into effect, stipulating that local commerce authorities at or above the county level may interview the above-mentioned operators if they are suspected of illegally using disposable plastic products such as non-degradable plastic bags by business operators. where corrections are not made within the time limit, a fine of between 10,000 and 100,000 RMB is to be given.
In August 2023, in order to actively respond to the latest national plastic ban policy, China Chemical Information Center upgraded the BDM platform to the BDM environmental protection materials and products service platform.
6. Introduction to the exhibition
PC BDM EXPO 2024 will be held on May 27-29 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center with the theme of "Green-Low-Low-Sustainability".
The exhibition will further focus on core main materials such as degradable plastics, paper-based materials and pulp, present a high-quality industrial chain of green materials and products, build a high-quality and high-value display, exchange and trade platform, and jointly promote China's development strategy of carbon reduction, pollution reduction and green expansion, and promote the sustainable development of China's environmentally friendly packaging industry.
At the same time, the water treatment chemicals technology and application exhibition will be held.
